The SAFER Banking Act (also referred to as SAFE Banking) would provide U.S. federally-chartered banks and insurance companies with legal protections for doing business with plant-touching cannabis companies. This Act is now in its 9th iteration, yet it's never gotten out of committee in the Senate.

No legislator has either won a seat or lost a seat based on their cannabis vote. It isn’t an issue that drives votes. And that make sense, after all, cannabis is readily available to the majority of Americans and most of them can care less about the details of cannabis banking.

@FrankColombo 100% agreed. Too many people peddling too much hope that the votes are there!

I hope I am wrong but in an election year cannabis seems to be a low priority.
