Which company will create the model that Cursor uses as the default for their agent at the end of 2025?
If Cursor doesn't have an "agent" mode at resolution time but has a similar popular mode, this will resolve based on the model for that.
1,000@traders Unfortunately, I think Cursor's default model may be ambiguous.
The "auto" mode, which is the default in Cursor, is described as a router that will choose between different models. And it doesn't tell you which model it used.
While I think that it probably mostly routes to their in-house Composer-1 model, I'm not sure if it always does that.
Does anyone have further intel on this to help resolve the market?
Current resolution options:
If it seems like all of the time it routes to their model, we could resolve that option to 100%
If there is a common mix of models we could resolve in proportion to that
But if we can't determine the mix of models used by Auto, I think we have to resolve N/A. This is what I will do if we don't find more evidence within the next week or so.
