Resolution Criteria
This market resolves to the candidate who wins the 2026 Los Angeles City Council election for District 1. If the election is not held, the market resolves N/A. In the unlikely event of redistricting between now and the election, this market will follow District 1 even if the number of seats changes.
Background
Eunisses Hernandez is the current representative for Los Angeles City Council District 1, having won the seat in 2022 by defeating incumbent Gil Cedillo. She is a member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, known for her progressive policies and activism.
Los Angeles City Council elections are typically held every four years, with the next District 1 election expected in 2026. As an incumbent, Hernandez may have advantages in name recognition and fundraising, though this will depend on her performance and popularity during her first term.
Considerations
As of mid-2024, no challengers have officially announced their candidacy for the 2026 election. Since this market allows anyone to add answers, new candidates can be added as they announce their intentions to run.
