Manifold is doing stuff
Jan 8, 2026

If you take a look at the github, they've added pull requests to create

  • a mana shop

  • a charity lottery

  • user calibration pages

changes are coming soon!

In light of this I will be phasing my at most weekly 500 mana (to be used for market creation and subsidies) purchase to at most biweekly at first and as these materialize to alternate days.

@JussiVilleHeiskanen You're buying the play money? Why...?

@ChurlishGambit In expectation of the mana merch and charity lottery or whatever

@JussiVilleHeiskanen You're shoveling your money right into a furnace

@JussiVilleHeiskanen And if you want to give money to a charity...why not give directly? Doing it by buying into a fake (& possibly illegal) lottery is wildly inefficient

Charity lottery? Sounds like a great way to destroy the site in a cloud of legal flames

@ChurlishGambit No one cared about what Polymarket was doing

@spiderduckpig That's just not true

They finally got access to claude code!

@FergusArgyll we mostly use cursor agent (which is better imho), but yeah

(edited)

@SG Two things: first, I know you have received a lot of criticism from the DMs and loan changes, but I like that we are making changes and seeing if they work.

Secondly, why all the changes now? Nothing much happened for most of last year, so what spurred all these changes?

Looking forward to the future of manifold

Chair of the FOMC

@JeromeHPowell we have weak agi in the form of the new claude opus. i personally can ship a significant feature in an hour or two that would have taken the team weeks previously

@SG "Weak AGI?" Come on now

@SG that is great!!! I love opus, it seems all the coders/developers on here have been Opus-pilled

@SG Be careful. This comment might trigger site wide market resolutions on AGI. ๐Ÿ˜†
