@TheAllMemeingEye it's not proximity but delta v, is my uneducated guess slowing down is delta v as well

@TheAllMemeingEye I honestly don't think heat is the problem

@JussiVilleHeiskanen yeah if memory serves me correctly Mercury is actually less hot than Venus since no atmosphere to capture heat
