NASA's Artemis program aims to return humans to the lunar surface for the first time since Apollo 17 in 1972.

This market resolves to the astronaut who is the first Artemis crew member to make physical contact with the lunar surface during the first successful Artemis lunar landing mission, regardless of mission number.

Resolution will be based on NASA mission reports, official mission transcripts, press releases, or other authoritative mission documentation. If an official determination of "first on the Moon" is made, that determination will be used.

If no Artemis astronaut lands on the Moon by 1 January 2040, the market resolves N/A.
