many folks have gone under pseudonyms, at least in the early years I went. they've historically pretty forgiving about it and try to accommodate it even on your badge. only the organizers (to get the ticket) and the door guard (to verify ID + ticket) needed to know your irl name.

why would you necessarily dox yourself? perhaps i don't understand the full intricacies of manifest, but why would anyone find out who you are?

I was also very hesitant to dox myself, but it turned out to be totally fine and absolutely nothing happened. Also when roon/gwern are showing up, it becomes harder to justify worrying about it lol

@SaviorofPlant IMO just do it. When I attended I didn't want to be doxed either (although I have since stopped caring very much). You can ask the Manifest team to use a false name for you so it won't be leaked. And you can get a placard which has a "please don't include me in photos" sign.
