I think this should resolve NO. Astral has been working on a type checker called Red Knot since April and their unfinished code is available on GitHub, however it's still very incomplete. For example, checking function call arguments is still being worked on and wildcard imports are not implemented. Therefore, I think it doesn't qualify as a beta at this point and cannot be considered "mypy ~compatible" either.
