press release from TTC: In May 2025, the City of Toronto and TTC started work to replace sections of the 142-year-old watermains and

rebuild streetcar tracks at King Street East and Church Street.

The intersection will now be fully closed to all traffic starting Monday,

June 2. TTC service will divert around the intersection. Construction is anticipated to reopen by mid August.

@Athena I'm seeing conflicting info online. From what I can tell, there was construction at King & Church that finished in August, but then more construction at King & Dufferin that picked up in September. I'm gonna call this YES because the description specified the King & Church project, even though the title was less specific

@Stralor I witnessed construction on King East when I was in Toronto a couple of weeks ago, but I think it may have been different construction than the one this question originally asked about.
