Some thoughts on this:

• There's a lot of angel symbolism around Noelle. Like how she crafted angels etc; but Deltarune loves throwing red herrings with symbolism, and it respects hard evidence only.

• The player is someone fitting an angel - someone who watches over all of them (which the angel is in-game confirmed to do so), who is an outer-worldly being of a different nature, kinda spiritual/immaterial like an angel.

• Remember that Undertale had an angel too! That one was actually never confirmed! Probably the player (especially fits in Genocide mode), if we assume that the prophecy is accurate (we don't know whether it is); but Asriel there also kinda fits. Boss monsters keep wearing robes with delta rune symbols, too. Given Chapter 5 developments, Ralsei also kinda fits - it sounds like he plays an important role, and has a lot of power for some reason.

• Gaster is also presumed to watch over everyone.

So I think it could be many characters, but to me it looks most likely the player, if taken on face value, and if it weren't the fact that toby fox is frequently a trickster.

Also I'd say a good chance that it's never confirmed, since it was never confirmed in Undertale, it just "seemed obvious".

@Kiniaczu Well... I mean... chapters 3 and 4 might not resolve the market. If the answer isn't clear from 3/4, I would not object to you opening the market again.
