GIL is an implementation detail of python preventing two threads doing work at the same time. There is a plan to remove it https://discuss.python.org/t/pep-703-making-the-global-interpreter-lock-optional/22606 but it was already attempted before but didn't make it to official version.
Resolves to YES if an official CPython version released publicly(not as alpha or beta) comes out without GIL before end of 2025. That probably means either 3.13 or 3.14 should come without GIL. If there is a nogil and gil versions released, it's still a YES.
