Resolution Criteria
The market resolves based on which team Giannis Antetokounmpo plays for after the February 5, 2026 NBA trade deadline. Resolution will be determined by official NBA rosters and league announcements. If Antetokounmpo is not traded by the deadline, the market resolves to "Milwaukee Bucks."
Background
Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready for a new home ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline, as several teams have made aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks, who are starting to listen. Antetokounmpo and his agent have had discussions with the Bucks for the past nine months about whether the best fit moving forward is in Milwaukee or elsewhere. The New York Knicks are often viewed as a favorite because the two-time NBA MVP is believed to prefer a move to Gotham in a potential trade, though Miami is also mentioned as a team that could tempt the Bucks into a deal.
Considerations
Antetokounmpo is sidelined for at least four-to-six weeks by a calf injury, and a second calf injury on top of a left adductor strain earlier this season does not appear to be dissuading interested parties. Milwaukee has indicated to interested teams that the organization is not in a rush to complete a move and is willing to navigate Antetokounmpo's future in the offseason if its believed price point of a blue-chip young talent and/or a surplus of draft picks isn't met.
